Motivation to Submit to Authority (LD 39; Ephesians 6:1-9) | 2009-2010 Catechism Sermons

The apostle Paul tells children to obey their parents. It is after this command to children that Paul then tells fathers not to overwhelm their children with their discipline. Slaves are to obey their masters, and masters are not to treat their slaves harshly. What is the hope for the slave that is abused? What is the hope for the master who is not appreciated for his kindness to his slave? Who is the final authority, and how is that encouraging? Please stay tuned to our sermon titled, “Motivation to Submit to Authority.”
