One of the names of God is El Shaddai. This means "God Almighty." The force of the name is that God is the mightiest of all beings. He is the king of kings and the Lord of lords. The point is that there is no being that can pull God down from His throne. There are no other gods besides the Lord God Almighty. This is the premise that is tested after Gideon takes down the alter to Baal. Will Ball be able to dethrone the God of heaven? Is El Shaddai scared of Baal?
