Jesus, Son of David, Son of Abraham, Son of God (Matthew 1:1-17)

The Bible opens with the book of Genesis. This is basically the book of the beginning. It begins with the genealogy of the heavens and the earth. We can see the book of Chronicles packed with genealogical records. We notice that at the opening of Matthew’s gospel there is the genealogy of Jesus that is divided into three sections of 14. Why does Matthew do this? Why do we have genealogies? What is the purpose of cataloguing all these names? Pleas stay tuned as we work through these questions in our sermon titled, "Jesus Son of David, Son of Abraham, and Son of God."
