Is One Better than Many? (LD 30, Hebrews 7:22-23) | 2008-2009 Catechism Sermons

The drama of Israel’s worship most likely surpasses anything that we see today. Think about what it must have been like to watch the priest slaughter an animal as a sacrifice. It is in this sacrifice that the horror of sin, and the wonder of the atonement is so closely tied together. Think about what it must have been like for the new priest to join the ranks testifying to the Lord’s care and provision. Do the many priests make Israel’s order better? Is this process of the repetitive sacrifice really better than what we have now? Does the sacrament of communion testify to an inferior time? If you are curious about these questions please stay tuned as we hear, “Is One Better Than Many?”
