Isaiah 48 ends with the assurance that there is no peace for the wicked. I am sure that this is something that is hopeful for Israel in the time of her exile, but what about us today? It seems that the wicked have plenty of peace and joy. How do we understand this promise that Isaiah makes? How do we find our rest in this promise? There are persecutions, illnesses, terminal diseases, and these are only some of the things that plague humanity including God’s people. So, when do we experience the joy of this promise that the wicked will have no peace implying that God’s people will have peace?
